All was satisfactory, however nothing was outstanding. The reception team were welcoming.

Although my stay was good, I would like to mention that attention to up keep was not that great. The shower was more like rain drops and the whole shower rail with the shower head on fell off the wall. One of the lamps next to the bed flickered which could be potentially dangerous. The first morning at breakfast the buffet section was not set up and the scrambled eggs although very nice took my mouth off as it was far to hot and a little rubbery as perhaps they were cooked well in advance and microwaved to heat. A suggestion would be not to bring out the toast as soon as the person sits at the breakfast table but to ask the guest if they wish their toast now or later. By the time I ate my slices of toast they were cold.

The size of the room too small ie no.12. For two people and 2 single beds

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely old building with history, good central position in Leominster.

The reception staff were lovely, the building is quirky and rustic and had a welcoming feeling.

It appeared tired and in need of refurbishment. The room was dated and had very old uncomfortable beds. The electrics were questionable and there was no shower over the bath. The wardrobe was on a slope and rattled as you walked past it. The floor mounted television was not easy to view from the bed. The heating was on full and the radiators were scalding, even the one next to our sons bed. It took 2 separate calls to reception and 3 hours for the heating to start to go off, well after 2am. The bar staff had poor product knowledge and were unable to answer basic questions about locally produced ales. Overall we really grudged paying the £170 for two nights "room" only!!!

    • Older travelers
      6.6

The relaxed atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. Attractive public areas, good furnishings for traditional building. Very good beer. Delicious lunchtime sandwiches.

Exterior of the building very scruffy in places. Bathroom for Room 16 needs total refurb. Smokers area outside was a litter trap. Car park seemed free-for-all for the locals so a bit cramped. Evening meals/bar snacks pretty mediocre. This place is a lost opportunity, it could be the only "fine dining" venue in Leominster, but it's not that by a long way.

Nice clean comfortable hotel. Didn't have any meals so can't comment on food

Hottest day of the year 26/6/11 & the bedroom was very warm, but no complaints

    • Group of friends
      7.8

Relaxed atmosphere. Helpful staff. Didn't eat in the dining room apart from Breakfast, which was good, but the 'pastries' advertised were not in evidence.

Room 11 was on the 2nd floor, and we carried our own bags. Also it was opposite the pub which 'chucked out' both Sat and Sun nights very late and it was impossible to get to sleep. Advise they spend money on double-glazing.

    • Older travelers
      10.0

The staff are excellent - more than usually helpful and friendly and better than staff in many 5 star hotels

The car park is rather small and tightly packed and the reception area is a bit musty.

    • Older travelers
      6.6

The room was comfortable and of a good size. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is excellent for days out and about Herefordshire/Shropshire. Car parking on site, a nice bar and good bar food.

Preparation of the room was poor. For example the extra towels were not provided without reference to reception, tea/coffee wasnt topped up when the room was serviced and the breakfast menu wasnt as advertised - no continetal option (only toast and no rolls

    • Group of friends
      8.2

Friendlyness and efficiency of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

Noise from street revellers until 3.45am. TV remotes did not work. Many channels available but no guide - very annoying.

    • Older travelers

Staff were very friendly hotel though has not got a lot going for it

They have an environmental policy on towels which is great but we were on the second floor and we had to run the sink tap for 30 minutes to get hot water, there is a notice in the room to do this (not for 30 mins though), however that is an environmental policy at it's worst, come on Best Western you have plenty of money to sort this out, when we questioned it the staff said it does not matter - supposed they have never been deprived of water!!

    • Family with children
      7.0

All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful, though the one receptionist struggled to understand one of our requests, possibly due to language barrier.

It's an old building in a provincial town, so it has a quirky layout and creaky floorboards. But so long as you're not expecting luxury, it's comfy and friendly.

Food was good though service was slow (although it was christmas eve). Bar area is pleasant enough, parking is easy.

The hotel needs some modernising. It has charm as its an old buildiing but the TV is old, the satellite signal breaks up every couple of minutes, the radiators in the room could not be turned down as the valve was broken, the kettle hangs on the end of an extension lead....etc.

It was a convenient stopping point for my journey.

The room was very small and dated although quiet, and the hotel restaurant lacked any atmosphere and was also dated although the food was ok. It was not an inspiring place to stay

    • Family with children
      7.0

We visited the area for a friend's child's christening and found the family room (for 3) large, comfortable and clean. The room looked to have been recently repainted (so much so that one of the wardrobe doors was still jammed with gloss paint!).Cooked breakfast was generous, albeit a little bland.

There was a lot of noise from an event (wedding perhaps?) downstairs - It wasn't too bad in our room, but on the 1st floor landing it was loud at gone 11 and it must've been terrible in some rooms in this area. Our bathroom was clean, but rather weary looking.
