It was a little and wonderful hotel in a fantastic area, near a big parade as well as a taxi. All of the staff members were extremely friendly and efficient. I was here for 2 nights and ate at attached restaurant for Food & People Watching.

Booked a room with amazing views of the sea and the colonial areas. The bathroom was a decent size, also it included a balcony, ornate ceiling, and a storage.

The hotel is situated in the middle of the city, not too far from Zona Colonial.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say, the location was unbeatable. Being right in the heart of the Colonial Zone allowed me to easily explore all the historic sites and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. The room I stayed in was cozy and comfortable, with a good shower and a comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The icing on the cake was the delicious and affordable food available at the hotel's restaurant. I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Santo Domingo.

It's all about the location. Located on the Parque Colon with the outdoor seating at their restaurant actually on el Conde it offers a perfect place for relaxing in the shade and people watching. Unlike pretty much all the other restaurants in town their outdoor dining area is consistently full of people, most of them Dominicans. The food is fairly good and the prices are as good or better than elsewhere. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the attractions and restaurants in the colonial zone and most things are within a couple of blocks. Nurys, the day clerk, was especially helpful and friendly although it does help with the entire staff if you speak some Spanish. Most of them speak some English so you can get by. Everything worked in the rooms and it is central air and not a window or split unit. Get room 302 or 402 for the best balcony views. Just remember that you are in the Dominican and not a 5 star resort in the US or Europe and you'll be fine.

The hotel can get a bit noisy due to it's location. Street noise can get kind of loud until midnight or so although I didn't find it excessive and could have gone to sleep if I wanted to. Also, rooms ending in 5 have no exterior windows, so if a view is important ask for a different room.

Clean, and the location is very gooc.

During our stay at Hotel Conde De Penalba, we experienced the most incredible location in the heart of the colonial zone. Exploring the historic monuments, enjoying local music, and indulging in delicious food and shopping were just steps away. We felt completely safe throughout our stay and the vibrant atmosphere added to the overall charm of our visit. Although there was some noise at night, it was manageable and did not significantly impact our experience. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated with a touch of old-world charm, and our mid-level room was comfortable and exactly as expected. The rooftop area was a great place to relax and take in the surroundings. The prices were reasonable for both the room and the attached cafe, and the service was exceptional. Despite a few minor issues such as limited breakfast options and a small bathroom, our overall experience was excellent. We would definitely recommend Hotel Conde De Penalba for anyone looking for a fantastic stay in the colonial zone. I highly recommend this hotel.

The attention of the employers and the restaurant very goooood.

The beauty of the building, the kindness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room

A suite has basic facilities you need. The beds are very comfy and the staff is extremely friendly and excellent.

This hotel is perfect for anyone that wants to see the history of the city and country. It is right on El Conde and Parque Colon, with a fantastic location at the end of one of the city's main shopping areas. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe downstairs is a great spot to grab a meal or drinks, with good prices and a continental vibe.

All was absolutely fine, no complaints whatsoever.

Did not like the 5 cm cockroach that much

I loved the room with a beautiful view. Had a shower and hair dryers in the bathroom. The location was excellent and absolutely perfect, next to Zona Colonial. This hotel was in a good area not far from the city's attractions and Santo Domingo and the ruins.

The hotel is located right at the giant statue of Columbus and is close to everything we wanted to see in the city. We enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of the cathedral square, which is just opposite the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the shower had great water pressure. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the restaurant served delicious food.

The service at the restaurant was a bit slow at times.

Very nice accomodations, close to shopping and tours.
