Lovely building, staff were very friendly. Room was very spacious, breakfast was very good aslo, resturant food was very good, bit pricey but good.
Would have been nice to have the option to put some heating on as it was a little chilly during my stay.

Comfortable Room, pleasant countryside setting yet only 8 minute drive from Newcastle International Airport, good food (but expensive), and friendly, helpful staff.
Not in my SatNav!! Executive Double Room not available on arrival - advised that all rooms are the same!!

The food (both dinner and breakfast) and the service were very good.
The only minor criticism was that the bathroom in our room was very cramped and made more so by the door only opening partially making access difficult for older visitors.

Food was superb, liked breakfast and evening supper deal with glass of champagne. Staff friendly One member of staff who waited on table and gave us our bill etc was exceptional, a real asset to the hotel. She even sourced a pack of cards for us.
As the person who sourced the hotel, did the booking, indeed arranged everything I have to say I was disappointed that of the three couple we had the most disappointing room. We moved from Bamburgh (dark, no view, smaller than our friends rooms) to the twin - to find no storage. Indeed one of the two drawers was packed with old magazines. It does seem petty to say their rooms are better than mine but we did feel peeved. Can I suggest in future you ensure the "booker" gets the best room. Our friends found everything very comfortable. Finally, have some games available for guests e.g. Packs of cards

The service was excellent; friendly but not intrusive, highly professional but personal. The traditional decor, furnishing and architecture suited our taste and made us feel at home. We stayed in the Alnick room which was spacious and had a lovely view of the garden. Our dinner was delicious; simple, fresh food ,well cooked and served.
Our bed was rather small and my breakfast kipper was slightly overcooked but these were minor complaints.
