The staff were very friendly, professional and efficient.
We unfortunately did not enjoy our stay at the Hazlewood Hotel and as such made an official complaint before we left. The room was unclean, the bed was broken and the overall stay did not provide value for money.

Beautiful rooms and a lovely restored castle. Idealic setting, quiet, relaxing and very peaceful. Wonderful food too!
Toilet handel had to be pumped at least six times before the toilet would fully flush. Shower was rather pathetic. It was a thin drizzle at best. Moreover, the water temperature wouldn't adjust. There was only one temperature and that was scalding. We used the tub which was fine. Everything else, rooms, amenities, surroundings, the rest of the castle, the staff, the food etc. was fantastic!!

Beautiful location
During my recent stay at Hazlewood Castle & Spa, I was blown away by the stunning location. Set in 70 acres of picturesque grounds, the castle is a true gem. I enjoyed exploring the beautiful surroundings, including the delightful fish pond and sun-soaked courtyard. The drive to the hotel from the main road was also a pleasant experience. the location of Hazlewood Castle & Spa is simply breathtaking.

great room, fantastic food, lovely surroundings, very handy location
I tried to book again for the following week and I couldn't get the same great rate again! Poor internet connection, although it was quite nice not to be bombarded with emails for 1 night!

We had a delightful stay at Hazlewood Castle. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and exceeded our expectations. The comfortable bed and bright, clean bathroom were highlights. The hotel's grounds and gardens were stunning, and we enjoyed the outdoor seating areas. The staff were exceptional, always ready to assist. A quirky feature was the bookcase in the library that led to our room, adding a touch of magic to our experience. We are already planning our return visit.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The building itself was also very impressive, with a fairy tale-like atmosphere. The staff were helpful and the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. One of the best things about the hotel was the amazing bed - it was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The fact that the hotel offered a spa was also a bonus, as it added an extra element of relaxation to the stay.
There were some negative aspects to our experience. The housekeeping staff were helpful, but the reception staff could definitely improve.

A very warm and friendly welcome from a delightful and well trained staff. It is ideally located for Northern travellers and so close to the A1. We are sorry we had not found it several yaers earlier.

I recently stayed at a beautiful historic castle in a remote location with stunning views. The staff were warm and friendly, providing fast service and ensuring a comfortable stay. The well-equipped and clean bedrooms had wonderfully comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were clean and fresh. The castle grounds were beautiful, providing a peaceful atmosphere. Despite a limited menu, the food at the restaurant was delicious with deceivingly filling portions. it was a lovely and enjoyable stay.
One aspect that could be improved is the limited menu options at the restaurant.
