Parking was good, the sheets were crisp and clean and it was convenient for the centre of town.
There was no reception and after you checked in we never saw a member of staff nor knew where to contact one. The room was very drab and sad needed redecoration. No hot water in the morning.

It is advertised as Hotel infact it is a b&b not what we were looking for. Three of us staying in one room, only two cups and two towels had to ask for more. Lounge not relaxing furniture pushed into half of the room therefore sitting on top of tv. A cat was allowed to roam in the breakfast room among guest asked for it be removed as it was rather off putting should never be aloud where food is.

I found the easy way we were allowed to 'come and go' very helpful. The attention of staff when required was good.
I found the room --No. 8 -- rather small as my friend was a 6 foot plus man. Large fat people would have found the bathroom quite a squeeze. We would have liked a small table beside the bed for a place to put, watches/ glasses diary or book etc.

The convenience for visiting other places I.E. Poole, Christchurch etc.
The cat wandering about the dining room was very off puting and I did see it it lash out at a youngster.

Leaving before time,(a day early).
Room advertised was for en suite but was not a bathroom but a shower, complained to staff but told no other room available. Beds were so uncomfortable, not a double but two singles side by side that should have been chucked out a long time ago. Breakfast times were only 8.15 to 9.00. The hotel advertises on the outside "contractors welcome"

The bed was comfy and clean. The bathroom was lovely and had a big old style bath which was great. The breakfast was a little on small size for english breakfast but had plenty of toast and coffee. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Location, friendly staff, good breakfast (loads of helping of toast), attention ensuring I could connect on the wifi. I couldn't connect, and the owner helpfully fired up the modem, and all was fine. Great service....
Nothing really only a slight concern to the door locks, that have a special way to lock. You just need to pay attention and follow the procedure, then everythings fine

Leaving on sunday morning oh the breakfast was okay.
No welcome or reception area. Door locked on arrival & had to phone to get someone to come to door. The rooms were old & tired. Lounge facilites locked. Water look warm & trickles out of tap. So basically everything we didn't like

Hotel easy to find from train station 20 mins walk, the hotel is situated in nice street which was clean and safe, and in a central location. with easy walking distance down a short hill towards beautiful beach, and the pier and town centre.there is bus stop at top of road if needed. The hotel offered a full and varied English breakfast great!!! our room was very quite as we requested, with tea & coffee milk supplied ,TV, central heating. The room was comfortable with crisp clean sheets on the bed, with hot/ cold water .The staff at the hotel were friendly and the owners were a" hands on" couple at the hotel as well which was nice to see as they greeted us. my husband and I will be returning to the gervis court in the summer.
The hotel is a very large house which has been converted , it has a lot of period features in it and within the hotel I found several public rooms out of use as they were closed off. is the hotel under a referb? the whole hotel could do with a make over of paint and updated carpets. there seems to be a lot of collected items on display which were ok , however I did find that there was" not a flow" of these Items, they seem only to be placed, but I did really like the large furniture in the hall ways . The dinningroom had a nice feel, there again a collection of different period Items set out ie wall pictures, dressers.
